Rola Helou

Governance & Strategy, she/her

Through a collaborative, strategic approach, Rola helps organizations find solutions to pressing governance, management and capacity development issues.

These include projects that organizations want to implement, but do not currently have the capacity to do so.

In her role as Executive Director of the First Nations Adult Education School Council, Rola helped support the creation of adult education centers in Indigenous communities across Quebec. She established and maintained partnerships with federal and provincial governments and Indigenous groups. Under her leadership they were able to negotiate new funding agreements, and consequently increased the budget from $2.2 million to $6.4 million, increased the number of centers from 3 to 9 and created business services, which generated $140,000 in the first year.

A peek into Rola’s life

Rola has over two decades of experience working with Indigenous communities throughout Québec. Her kind heart, sharp mind and generous spirit are only a few of the qualities that make her an ideal Phil collaborator.
