At Phil, we’re very fortunate that we love what we do. On top of that, what we do makes an impact in our community. Another example of this is last week’s event, held by Les Amis de la montagne: their first ever Chapeau mont Royal! event.
This inaugural event was a sophisticated and gourmet benefit luncheon, held June 12th 2014 in the magnificent Chalet du Mont-Royal, with the extraordinary participation of Mitsou Gélinas as our Master of Ceremonies and Julie Godin as Honorary Chairperson.
The event is inspired by the famous “Hat Luncheon” in New York organized by the Women’s Committee of the Central Park Conservancy, a prestigious event that is very highly regarded by the women and men of New York.
“Chapeau mont Royal!” was enjoyed by 500 Montrealers wearing their most spectacular hats and finest attire on the summit of Montreal. The proceeds from Chapeau mont Royal! go towards Les amis de la montagne’s educational, conservation and improvement programs on Mount Royal.
To add to the excitement of the event, the paparazzi was out in droves! See if you can spot the Phil team in the photos throughout this beautiful media coverage:

“It was great to see how our small team was part of a much bigger team and how it all came together so flawlessly! We’re fortunate to do the work we do and be a part of such important events that will have a veritable impact on our city.” says Tanya Gabriel, Phil’s director of operations.
Our graphic designer Myriam was also happy to attend this auspicious event:
“As a true nature-lover, I was delighted to be able to help make an impact with the design, but also to attend the first ever Chapeau mont-Royal event. The opportunity to show off a hat and dress up was also a pleasant bonus! Despite the rain, the place was crowded, and there was so much laughter and joy as people complimented each others hats and outfits, took pictures and enjoyed a delicious lunch. The event organizers took great care in making sure the event was well set up, and the speeches were heartfelt. It was clear that to everyone attending, the mont-Royal mattered to us all. ”
We hope to see you next year!
